Bluehost is a shared hosting provider headquartered in Provo, Utah (United States), founded in 2003, and part of the Newfold Digital group, as stated on its own "About" page. It is one of the providers officially recommended by WordPress.org, a fact the company itself cites on its site. Its entry-level Starter plan is priced at $3.99 a month, but that figure requires prepaying a 36-month term; on renewal it rises to $9.99 a month. The Business and eCommerce Essentials plans follow the same pattern: $6.99 and $14.99 to start, against $13.99 and $21.99 on renewal.
The control panel is cPanel, as confirmed in Bluehost's own knowledge base. Every plan includes free SSL, a free domain for the first year, a self-service site migration tool (not a technician-handled transfer), a free CDN and weekly — not daily — backups, backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee and a 99.99% uptime SLA. 24/7 chat support is available on all three plans, but phone support is only offered from the Business plan up.
On data centers, Bluehost only states it has "data centers in key regions worldwide" and mentions North America, South America, Europe and Asia as covered regions, without specifying countries or cities.
