Uniswap V3 has undergone rigorous security audits by Trail of Bits and OpenZeppelin, and its smart contracts are immutable with no admin keys, ensuring fully trustless operation. The protocol is governed by UNI token holders, who vote on fee switches, treasury spending, and protocol upgrades through the Uniswap DAO. The UNI token also grants holders a claim on future protocol revenue if governance activates the fee switch.

Daily trading volumes on Uniswap V3 regularly exceed $1 billion, making it one of the top DEXs globally by volume. The protocol has facilitated trillions of dollars in cumulative trading volume since launch, and its innovative concentrated liquidity model has been widely adopted and forked across dozens of competing protocols across multiple blockchains.

Uniswap V3 is deployed on Ethereum mainnet and serves as the canonical reference deployment. The Business Source License (BUSL) on V3 code expired in 2023, opening the codebase to forks.
